Spotlight on AWEsome! Giveaway by 6catsart!

The Giveaway is now closed.

Welcome to this month's giveaway, the first one of the the new decade!  How exciting!  I'd like you to meet Corinne, of 6catsart on Etsy!  If you love art work inspired by nature, 6catsart is the shop to see!  Corinne creates some of the prettiest floral watercolor paintings I have seen!   Let's meet Corinne!

Tell us a little about yourself:
I live on the beautiful West Coast in Canada in a city called Burnaby which is a suburb of Metro Vancouver. I love realistic and impressionist style paintings and prints, beaches, the rugged beauty of the Pacific Northwest and relaxing afternoons spent making things. I share my home with my boyfriend, several cats, a bunny and our little dog.

Tell us how you got your start in your craft/art.
My father always encouraged us kids to make things when we were very little. He would spend whole afternoons doing stuff with us. They are good memories that I cherish.

What inspires you?
Nature is my biggest inspiration flowers, animals, birds, beaches, trees, mountains . . . .

Where can you be found online and offline (shows, galleries, shops, etc)?
My watercolors are sold locally at several shops including the Vancouver Art Gallery gift shop, Circle Craft on Granville Island, Silk Purse in West Vancouver, Place Des Arts in Coquitlam, the Blue Heron Gallery in Point Roberts and Seymour Art Gallery in North Vancouver. I do commission work through Van Dop Gallery in New Westminster here is my page on their site www.vandopgallery.com/results.php.

In 2009 I discovered etsy and set up my first shop 6catsart.etsy.com. I love the etsy community the people are so amazingly talented, generous at sharing and supportive of each other.

I also maintain a flickr photostream  that has images of many of my sold pieces as well as new paintings I have recently done.

Share your favorite recipe, craft tips, perhaps a free tutorial you have written....something to make this fun!

I occassionally try new painting techniques when I feel like I am getting in a rut or am looking for new inspiration. Here is a description of a method I was shown and tried, it is a pouring technique.

Share 3 little know facts about yourself...
Here are two facts . . .

~~I started taking jewelry classes in 2010 and hope to open up a 6catsJewelry shop on etsy in the summer.
~~Even though I love the beach I do not like to swim.
